1 min read

In November 2020, it was announced that Killara Train Station will receive an accessibility upgrade under the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program.

The installation of a lift at Killara Station is in addition to the local upgrades approved to be constructed at Pymble, Wahroonga, Waitara, Normanhurst, Roseville and Thornleigh to make them accessible to all public transport customers including by the installation of lifts.

“The NSW Government is committed to ensuring everyone is able to access public transport facilities. By eliminating barriers, all people including those with a disability, carers with prams and the elderly will be able to catch the train and enjoy independence”
“Our local rail network is a very important community asset, connecting people to jobs, education, health services and importantly friends and family”
Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP

Warrawee Station’s upgrade has recently been completed and on 3 September 2020, Mr Henskens joined Knox Grammar students, Alex and Chase (pictured), their families, friends, Knox teachers and representatives from Transport for NSW to officially open the Accessibility Upgrade.

With Warrawee complete, work has commenced at Wahroonga and Roseville Stations and will be followed by Waitara, Pymble, Normanhurst, Thornleigh and Killara, with all works progressively delivered by 2023.
