Alec grew up in Ku-ring-gai and has lived in Lindfield since 2010. His three kids went to Lindfield Public School and played for local football, netball and basketball clubs.

After a successful corporate career of more than 20 years Alec switched gears to support his family and serve the community.

His most recent full-time role was managing Group Strategy at Insurance Australia Group. This included annual planning and strategy setting, supporting corporate transactions, and working closely with Risk & Compliance on governance.

Alec also has a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

After swapping roles with his wife, Alec worked part-time and became the primary-carer for the household. He was the convenor of the band program at Lindfield Public school and now does disability support work through Mabel, volunteering for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, and writes novels.

As a local independent Alec is focused exclusively on the community.
