Pearl of the Hawkesbury - the Hawkesbury River Marina
2 min read

THE Hawkesbury River Marina has been owned by Richie Goldman for four years.

Richie describes the Hawkesbury River Marina as “the river of secrets”.

“There is so much to do and see, from chartered day trips, luxury afloat, jet skiing and seafood buffet.

I love it here,” he says.

Richie’s background in hospitality has made it an easy transition for the entrepreneur to Brooklyn’s Hawkesbury Marina where he has reinvented himself.

Chatting with Richie about the plans for the Marina, the time quickly escapes.

Reminiscing about his start as a teenager working at the Phantom café in Chatswood, Richie describes helping his mum financially after his dad left the family, which includes his twin sister Yael.

No stranger to hard work Richie has worked his way up to become an astute businessman, often working a seven-day week and juggling a young family.

“Safety first” is a huge focus for Richie as he describes the level of detail and time it took to acquire the jet ski licences from Maritime Services.

They were worth the wait for locals and tourists.

Richie’s family has recently battled with two close family members being diagnosed with cancer.

Sadly, his mother Fran recently lost her fight with cancer.

Pearl of the Hawkesbury - the Hawkesbury River Marina Fran was especially proud of her sons achievements.

She supported her son throughout his life and managed the books for his businesses for 10 years.

He has a close family and his sister Yael works with him at the Marina.

One of Richie’s proudest moments was when he bought a new Tiguan Volkswagen for his mother before she passed.

The Hawkesbury River Marina has already embarked on a transformation with the two luxury penthouses upstairs being newly renovated.

Richie’s wife Chanel Goldman has masterfully decorated these well-appointed luxury units.

The accommodation is ideal for professional events, couples and families looking for a local getaway close to home, yet removed enough to feel the benefits of a relaxed break.

Both penthouses have benefited from plush furnishings, an abundance of accessories, and home comforts.

The interiors have been designed with the intention of creating a relaxed and comfortable feel inspired by Hawkesbury River, local beaches and hidden gems.

The penthouses’ large outdoor entertaining areas facing the water are ideal for enjoying seafood with friends after a day out on the water.

The Marina also offers AirBnB to guests with five units.

The marina offers a café, bottleshop, restaurant, fishing supplies, day trips with chartered boats, jet skiing and much more.

The vision and passion that Richie has for the future of the Marina will transform it into a thriving destination for all who visit with eateries, entertainment and live music planned post-COVID and beyond.
