Located in Wahroonga and Gordon, Home by MB provides a range of bespoke, artisan products that hold a depth of personality. Each piece is handmade by experts across Asia, who employ their traditional skills and natural materials to create unique, stylish homeware pieces.

‘I recognise there is a real hole in the market for unique products,’ says Samantha Bourn, co-owner of Home by MB and McConnell Bourn. ‘Predominately, 80% of the products I design and get made come from Indonesia, in Java.’

Home by MB caters to those that are tired of entering a shop and being greeted by identical items that were in the shop before. Home by MB is for those that dislike online shopping, and the inability to feel and experience the pieces of furniture you wish to bring into your own home.

‘There is an opportunity to bring and present new products, unique things to the marketplace,’ explains Sam Bourn. ‘But particularly in the North Shore, there is a lack of beautiful homeware stores. A lot of retailers are going online, and you hear a lot of people saying they just want to see the product in person.’

Home by MB offers a range of products – French inspired chandeliers, dining tables made from solid fruitwood, hand-woven rattan trays and baskets, Venetian glassware, locally made pure soy wax candles, and cushions with sophisticated piping. When customers are in need of a specific piece of furniture, more often than not Home by MB is able to design and customise the item, and have it made by their artisan suppliers.

Personalised style consultations are provided by the team of interior designers, where Home by MB will visit homes, view the area that is in need of styling, and offer their expertise for a tailored space that customers will delight in. ‘We offer obligation-free, complimentary home visits,’ says Sam. ‘We guide people. We’re doing a lot of home visits, which is really nice.’

Home by MB have two locations, one in Wahroonga on Coonanbarra Road, and the other in Gordon, on the Pacific Highway. The Gordon location houses Café MB within the store, a café to sit, enjoy coffee and pastries, and connect with friends.
