The North Shore’s Vibrant Volunteer Spirit
1 min read

One of Bradfield’s greatest attributes is its spirit of volunteering.

Whether it’s fundraising for the Salvation Army during their Red Shield Appeal, raising a sweat during the Lindfield Fun Run in support of Lindfield Rotary and local youth mental health service KYDS, or delivering nutritious meals to the elderly via Meals on Wheels, we are a community who devotes countless hours to assist those in need.

And the numbers substantiate this volunteering culture. The most recent census revealed almost 19 per cent of Bradfield residents volunteer through an organisation.  This is well above the national figure of 14 per cent.

If you are interested in volunteering, there are plenty of causes that could benefit from local support.

These include the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day in late August, Ku-ring-gai Council’s Bushcare program, and Movember.

If you have the time, I encourage you to put your hand up and get involved.

Not only will you be supporting a worthwhile cause, but you could also make new friends and broaden your perspective.

I am always impressed by the number of people from across the north shore who actively seek to make a difference. We are privileged to live in a community personified by social harmony, respect, and togetherness.

It is truly inspiring.
