NORTHERN Beaches Council Give $100,000 Worth of Sport and Recreation Grants

Northern Beaches Council have announced recipients of the Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Grants.

Six sporting clubs were successful in their applications, sharing in a pool of grants amounting to $100,000. Applicants could apply up to $35,000 for new or upgraded Council infrastructure on Council land.

The Manly Warringah Field Archers at JJ Melbourne Hills Memorial Reserve will receive a $30,000 grant to install an all-weather structure, a disabled parking bay, and new paths. Northern Beaches Volleyball Association will receive a grant of $20,000 to install two dual use seats. Allambie Height Community Tennis Club received a $18,000 grant to convert one synthetic court into a hard-court. The Avalon Beach Pickleball Association will receive a $12,000 grant to install sandstone seating blocks and paths at the Avalon Beach Reserve. Long Reef Golf Club and Mona Vale Golf Club were both granted $10,000 to redesign the bunkers at the 13th hole, and rebuild the existing teaching facility, respectively.

‘Sport, recreation and play are a way of life on the Northern Beaches and it’s no surprise with the beautiful environment we’re surrounded by and facilities available for use,’ says Northern Beaches Mayor, Sue Heins.

Applicants are required to complete their projects by the 30th of June, 2024.
