Local Cafe Raising Funds to Stay Afloat
1 min read

The Mind Cafe in Narrabeen may sadly close its doors.
Opening in late 2021, the Mind Cafe focuses on the mental health of the community and spreading kindness to all. The cafe promotes inclusion and togetherness for everyone to have the opportunity to participate socially.
Unfortunately, operating a small business is no simple feat, and many become unable to remain open.
Owner Guy Morel released an update on The Mind Cafe’s Facebook page, giving the news that the cafe may have to close after the 1st of April.
‘We are not sustainable,’ explains Guy. ‘I put my love, heart, soul, everything into this cafe and all I really want to do is make a difference.’
After breaking the news of the cafe’s dire situation, a plethora of community members responded, sharing their disappointment and asking how they could help. A GoFundMe has been set up at the request of the community, where in just four days, over $10,000 has been donated.
The Mind Cafe has drawn the attention of Rory Amon, Member for Pittwater.
‘This is really saddening to hear and see. I am on the lookout for available grants,’ writes Rory Amon beneath the Mind Cafe’s Facebook post. ‘I encourage as many of you as possible to get down to the Mind Cafe and buy a coffee, buy a meal and tell a friend.’
The community waits to see what the future holds for The Mind Cafe.
