Magpies Waitara’s New Hangout Destination for Locals
2 min read

I wouldn't be the first to think there is a lack of quality social venues to meet friends or family on a Saturday night, possibly a Sunday arvo, or even knock-off drinks and nibbles on a Friday.

Local communities need fresh locations to enjoy sports, live music or even a new favourite destination for a weekend family lunch.

I'm talking about the outdoors, music, atmosphere, cold drinks, and tasty treats—a 'Local' with a warming vibe that keeps you returning for more. Magpies Waitara now hosts a similar little social gem, a new hotspot that encompasses exactly what the community has been crying out for.

The Post recently headed to Magpies Waitara's 'The Garden' venue to try their new menu offerings and take in the new outdoor setting. The once 'Shamrock Inn' has evolved into a new and improved destination to spend evenings or afternoons out. They've got it all, whether it's socialising with friends, watching live sport or music, or enjoying a chilled Sunday session to finish the weekend.

Offering a cozy and picturesque environment to soak up the sun. With its verdant greenery, twinkling lights, and irresistible menu, The Garden has quickly become a hot spot for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

With the summer heat continuing to linger through to autumn, Magpies' The Garden has all your cool-down needs sorted, with ample options for refreshments, various types of Australian and international beers and wines and tasty cocktails. The outdoor setting also has water misters to keep you cool while you soak up the sun.

The menu focuses more on shared items, cheese boards, finger food, gourmet pizzas, and paninis, which offer traditional and more adventurous options.

The Post decided to try some of the recommended fan favourites on the menu. Trying the Soft-Shell Tacos gives patrons three sizeable tacos for only $12. Each is packed with its own flavour and differing types of filling. The Crispy Chicken with bitey truffle mayo, tender battered flathead with fresh slaw, and my personal favourite, the Pulled Pork soft shell taco perfectly balanced with a tangy herb slaw.

The Pumpkin and Feta Arancini were also a hit. Rich with a homemade tomato sauce, the likes of which transport you to an authentic Italian restaurant. Perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and warm goodness on the inside. I definitely recommend this meal in the cooler months of the year for that comfort style of treat.

The Twice-cooked Crispy Pork Bites are the pick of the bunch. For only $15, patrons receive a healthy serving of sticky teriyaki glazed pork belly bites. Cooked nicely, balancing the pork's soft, tender meat and crispy textures.

Magpies Waitara's 'The Garden' is like that friend who always knows how to throw a great party. With its fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and refreshing drinks, it has quickly become a popular hangout spot for the locals. So, if you're looking for a place where you can relax and have some fun with your family and friends, head over to 'The Garden' and let the good times roll.
