Ride the Bobbo!
2 min read

Are you ready to pedal for a cause in 2024?

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist looking for a well-organised ride through stunning local bushland, want a fun way to catch up with friends while supporting local community organisations, or need a nudge to sign up again, we want you in the pack!

More than just a ride through Ku-Ring-Gai National Park and Bobbin Head on 24 March, the Bobbo is where our community comes together. It’s where we say, we see those in need. We hear those in crisis. We’re there for people in their darkest moments.

With your support, Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney and local organisations such as KYDS Youth Development Service, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter and Hornsby Connect can be there in times of crisis, increase wellbeing and resilience in our community, and keep people safe.

And getting involved is as easy as riding a bike! All four scenic rides start by weaving through pristine bushland down to the waters at Bobbin Head, the sound of bird call and the smell of eucalyptus in the air.

Serious riders over 15 can test their mettle on our 104-kilometre ride, taking in ocean views from West Head Lookout, or rise to the challenge of an 80-kilometre spin. Social riders aren’t left out either. Stretch yourself over 57 kilometres or ride with friends and family over 12 on our shortest 27-kilometre route. Whichever you choose, you’ll be part of something big.

Now in our 13th year, the Bobbo is set to be better than ever in 2024. With a medal for your efforts and standout prizes for top fundraisers – four-day bike tour of Mont Ventoux, France, or brand-new Trek bike, anyone? – plus great entertainment along the way and fresh new jerseys, what are you waiting for?

We’ll be with you all the way with resources to help, including a personalised fundraising page, training plans for the lead-up as well as support on the day, such as first aid and rest stops with snacks and drinks, and yes, toilets.

There’s even a bicycle repair van and mobile support riders! Not to forget the range of refreshments when you finish at the Bobbo Village, and all riders will be able to enjoy a massage or physio service. So, let’s get pedalling!

Every ride counts, but if cycling isn’t for you, we still have heaps of great ways you can be involved! From donating on our website, supporting an individual rider or team, to volunteering on the day or becoming a partner or sponsor, the Bobbo is for everyone.

The Bobbo is organised by volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Kuring gai, Turramurra, Wahroonga, St Ives and Upper Northern Beaches.

We can’t wait to have you along for the ride. Sign up now or find out more at bobbo.org.au and see you on Sunday 24 March 2024!
