The Annual Bobbin Head Cycle Classic is Back in Town for 2024
2 min read

Bright eyes and fluorescent bike kits will assemble again in 2024 for the thrilling Bobbin Head Cycle Classic! Unveiling keen riders set to take on a day jam-packed with an unbeatable community atmosphere. This is no ordinary bike ride; this is a spectacle.

Sunday, the 24th of March, riders will set out in the name of charity, embarking on the more locally known 'BOBBO'. Starting and finishing in Turramurra (in Sydney's Upper North Shore), the four possible distances take in some of the most beautiful sights of Sydney, with the course running through right Bobbin Head, taking in the fantastic scenery of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and the breathtaking coastal views from West Head.

Riders can challenge themselves in four differing rise lengths to suit their ability. Social cyclists looking for a cruisey pedal can attempt the 27km ride. Those with a touch more experience or who want to take it to the next level can sign up for the 57km ride. For the real bicycle heads in the community, you can give the 80km distance a whirl, proving a lot more challenging than the previous lengths.

For the real keen riders who live to hit the pavement, try your luck with the 104km ride, including significant elevation; not one for the faint-hearted.

The event is a major Lifeline fundraiser, with a total of 50% of funds raised going directly to mitigation of mental health and suicide prevention.

In Australia, mental illness affects roughly 1 in 4 people, and a staggering 180 people attempt to take their own life; sadly, eight people will die through suicidal attempts. The money raised during the BOBBO Classic will be funnelled to a worthy cause that allows Lifeline to continue doing extraordinary things in our community.

Head to the BOBBO website and look at the many more beautiful charities that also gain your support over the cycling classic, including KYDS Youth Development Service and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women's Shelter.

With plenty of time left to gather your dream team or to sign up as a sole rider, the aim of the game is 'more the merrier'. A day full of cycling, entertainment, smiles, and community spirit, the 2024 BOBBO will be a Sunday you will not want to miss.
